National Science and Engineering Week

National Science and Engineering Week (formerly National Science Week) is a 10 day programme of around 2,000 events running throughout the whole of the UK with the aim of celebrating science, engineering and technology and its importance in our lives.  With no restrictions on who can organise events, the topics on which they are focused, the audience or the venue, the resulting programme is a hugely varied and eclectic mix suitable for people of all ages and abilities.

Hundreds of thousands of people across the UK take part in National Science and Engineering Week activities every year.

Stradform’s Business Development Manager, Michelle Davies, who is also a Construction Ambassador with Constructing Skills, together with Paul Jenkins, Contracts Manager for Stradform, recently took part at Coleg Morgannwg’s “Girls into Construction and Built Environment Careers Day”. A series of craft careers and practical workshops were held followed by professional career presentations, health and safety briefings which were concluded by a site visit to the new Arts and Design Centre which is currently under construction by Stradform.

The idea behind the programme is to raise awareness, spark enthusiasm and celebrate science, engineering and technology to the young and old with various or no levels of knowledge and understanding and from all walks of life.
